Resonance

push harder? no. push *on time*.

grow a swing with timed pushes — mashing kills it

The same push, timed to match the swing’s own rhythm, builds the arc higher — thrown in off-rhythm, it just fights the motion already there and cancels out. Real structures do this too, which is why marching soldiers break step crossing a bridge: footfalls in time with a structure’s own sway can grow it, where the same force applied randomly wouldn’t.

Concepts: resonance, timing.
