Mandir

what you match is what you build.

a match-3 board that feeds a temple: flowers become the garland, lamps the steps, bells the arch

A match-3 board usually sends its matches nowhere: they clear, the board refills, and the only trace is a number. Here every three-of-a-kind flies up and becomes part of a temple above the board, so the pieces you choose to clear are the pieces you are building with, and the temple is finished when the board has fed it enough. It is the smallest version of a design by Hitgo’s mother: the fun part of her game was not the puzzle, it was watching the mandir grow.

Concepts: pattern, order.
