Lightyear
the fastest thing there is. watch it crawl.
ride one photon at honest speed — Earth in 20s, Proxima in the dark
Light takes a little over eight minutes to reach Earth from the sun, and over four years to reach the next star after that — real durations, honestly labeled, even where the piece has to compress them to fit on a screen. The distance from here to there is less a fact to learn than a duration to sit inside: mostly darkness, mostly waiting, which is the emptiness between stars.
Concepts: light-speed, astronomy.
