Fold
0.1mm of paper. 42 folds. do the thing.
double a sheet’s thickness 42 times — see where it lands
The paper's thickness only ever doubles, but forty-two doublings outrun intuition fast, climbing from a fraction of a millimeter past towers and mountains to roughly the distance of the Moon. Real paper cannot actually survive more than about eight folds — this plays out what the math says would happen if it could, which is the point: exponential growth feels flat for a long time, then suddenly is not.
Concepts: exponential-growth.
