Epidemic
patient zero coughs. you’re in charge.
release a contagion on a network — then flatten the curve yourself
A contagion crossing a network rises, peaks, and falls as the pool of susceptible neighbors runs out — the same shape whether it is disease, rumor, or outage. Distancing cuts the network's long-range connections and vaccination removes people outright; either lowers that same peak without the disease itself becoming any less contagious.
Concepts: epidemiology, networks.
