Bury

you do not choose what arrives. only where it goes.

one minute, gems arriving over four columns: tap the column each one drops into, and fill columns with one colour. two colours and the column is crossed out, locked, then cleared for nothing. three times a run you can tap the waiting gem to throw it away

You have one minute. A gem arrives, you choose a column, and it lands on top of whatever is already in there. Four of the same colour and that column lets go and counts: that is the score. When a column takes a second colour it is crossed out. For three seconds you cannot drop anything into it, and then it empties without counting. Three times a run you can tap the waiting gem to throw it away, and the next one comes up instead. There are five colours and four columns, so one colour never has a clean home, and every burial costs you a column you were building and the seconds it stays locked.
